Inspired by German Expressionist cinema, Lupu Pick celebrate shadows and light, madness and sanity, absurdity and the elusiveness of normality in their music. Colin plays a tenor and a baritone saxophone, records multilayered soundscapes on his loop station and enjoys film noir. Martin likes Egon Schiele’s paintings, plays a small, cajon-based drum set and, simultaneously, an analog bass synthesizer. The music they create together is both grand and intimate, steeped in musical traditions from jazz to punk as well as tentatively futuristic.
